Indian chess player Divya Deshmukh make history I
Divya Deshmukh is the 2025 Women’s World Cup champion. FIDE women reached the final of the Women’s World Cup final and became the first Indian champion in the country.
He defeated former China’s world champion Tanji and entered the World Chess Championship final as the first Indian female chess player. Divya Deshmukh defeated Veteran Quero Hampi in the second rapid tie breaker and became the first Indian champion in the Fide Women’s Chess World Cup.
Divya defeated Hamki in the second rapid tie breaker match in Batumi, Georgia on Monday. After finishing the two-day coach, the winner was taken to the tie breaker on Monday. Kaneru Hampi and Divya Deshmukh were drawing on the first rapid tie breaker and Divya won the second. This victory helps Divya win the title of Grandmaster.
Divya won the title at the age of 19 and not only won the Grandmaster (GM) title. This victory is not only a personal achievement of Divya, but also a matter of pride for the entire country. It has ushered in a new direction in the history of Indian chess.
