Chief Minister Vijay said, ‘There is no room for compromise outside black and white

His party won TVK’s first election. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has gone public to thank his voters after becoming Chief Minister. This is his first ‘thank you speech’ as Chief Minister. Vijay’s unexpected victory surprised many political analysts. His success led to the fall of MK Stalin’s DMK government.

Vijay reached Tiruchirappalli on Monday evening. In September 2015, he started his election campaign from Tiruchirappalli. He was surrounded by a crowd as he left the airport today.

“Victory! Victory!” The surroundings shook with this slogan. After that he participated in the road show from there. The Chief Minister started his speech with just one word – “Thank you.”

Pointing to well-known political parties like DMK and AIADMK, Vijay said, “You have rejected those who have betrayed you for so many years. You have won me over. I bow to you in gratitude for that.”

After failing to secure a single majority in the elections, Vijay is now running a coalition government. He candidly told his supporters that the job would have been much easier if his party had won a few more seats. But he is confident about the future. Vijay said, “I am sure that I will get your support in coming days. You will appreciate me when you see how I work.

The actor-turned-politician also responded to critics’ criticism that he wore a suit to an official function. Vijay says, “The color of my suit is always black and white. It has a meaning. I see it clearly in all eyes. I have no room for compromise between good and evil.”

Ministers Adhav Arjun, S Ramesh and Lok Sabha MP Durai Bhai were also present at the airport to welcome the new Chief Minister. The roadshow covers about 10 km from the airport to St. Joseph’s College.

There is one big reason why I chose Tiruchirappalli to thank the voters. He was elected in Tiruchirappalli East constituency with a huge margin. This time he won from two seats. The other seat was Perambur in Chennai. However, the new Chief Minister decided to vacate the Tiruchirappalli East seat and retain the Perambu seat as per rules.
