An important chapter was added in Karnataka politics on Wednesday‘L. Congress leader DK Sivakumar took oath as the new Chief Minister of the state. He took the oath of office and secrecy with a copy of the constitution in his hand at a grand ceremony in the capital Bangalore. A large presence of Congress leaders, workers and supporters was present at the venue during this time. Sivakumar was accompanied by veteran Congress leader G Parameshwar who took over as Deputy Chief Minister. The Governor administered the oath of office and secrecy to the two leaders. Several top Congress leaders were present at the swearing-in ceremony.
With the formation of the new government, the cabinet was also expanded. Apart from the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, 12 other leaders took oath as ministers. Among these new faces is Dr. Jatinandra Siddaramaiah, son of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Earlier, MaySiddaramaiah resigned as chief minister after leading the state from May 2023
