After the controversy surrounding the NEET question paper leak across the country, the National Examinations Agency (NTA) is now gearing up to strengthen its entire system in new ways. After a series of questions about NTA and anger among students, the organization has initiated major administrative and technical changes. NTA has announced several important reforms under the direction of the Ministry of Education. Exam security and digital system will be strengthened more than before. NTA has four senior officers, including two at the level of Joint Secretary and two at the level of Director. They will be tasked with increasing the agency’s transparency, implementing administrative reforms and overseeing the entire system.
Apart from these new appointments, for the first time, separate specialist officers have been appointed for technical, finance and human resource departments. NTA has advertised for important posts like Chief Technology Officer, Chief Finance Officer and General Manager-HR. The recruitment notification for these posts has been issued and the application deadline has been fixed within 15 days from the date of notification.
Among these changes, the most talked about is the post of Chief Technology Officer or CTO. Henceforth the entire technical security of the testing system will be under the supervision of a Senior Technical Officer. This officer will improve systems like artificial intelligence or AI based monitoring system, biometric verification, facial authentication, cyber security and question paper security. From now on, technical security will be implemented at every stage from question paper preparation to printing and transportation, the agency said. Also, AI and data analytics will be used to monitor suspicious activity and strengthen biometric identification systems at exam centers.
NTA conducts various entrance tests for more than 10 million students across the country every year. In such a situation, the recent controversy had a huge impact on the organization’s credibility. Now both the government and NTA want to send the message that the examination process will be made completely safe and reliable in future.
