The programme will begin from 6:30 pm onwards and will continue for one week. The highlight of the event is the rare planetary alignment, where Venus, the brightest planet in the night sky, and Jupiter, the second brightest, will be visible in close proximity, making them easy to spot even with the naked eye.

Speaking to GPlus, B.C. Bora, an official from Guwahati Planetarium, said, Venus and Jupiter will appear strikingly bright and close for several days, though their apparent distance will gradually increase over the week. He also added, "Such a conjunction is a rare occurrence and is expected to be visible again only around 2028"

The event has been organised free of cost and is open to all age groups, aiming to encourage public interest in astronomy and provide a guided opportunity for sky observation through telescopes.
