A major change is coming in Tamil Nadu politicsWhen former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K Annamalai resigned from the party. He handed over a five-page resignation letter to BJP national president Nitin Naveen. After submitting his resignation, Annamalai met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and left for Chennai soon after.
According to sources, Annamalai made it clear that she wants to leave the party in a very cordial atmosphere during a meeting with the BJP national leadership. National President Nitin Navin and General Secretary BL Santosh were also present in the meeting. Annamalai said he now wants to decide his own political future. The BJP leadership tried hard to keep him in the organisation. There was also talk of giving him some important duties at the national level and he was advised to stay in Delhi till further orders. But Annamalai is adamant about her decision.
Annamalai’s resignation was in the spotlight for months. The speculation has gained more traction ever since Nainor Nagendran was made the Tamil Nadu BJP state president to succeed him in 2025. Political analysts believe that some of Annamalai’s offensive comments about MGR and J Jayalalithaa caused a rift in the alliance between the BJP and the AIADMK.Both sides have borne the political losses. Meanwhile, Annamalai’s supporters recently put up large posters in many places in Tamil Nadu, including Madurai, urging him to take the next incarnation and save Tamil Nadu.
K Annamalai, who entered politics in 2020, was the youngest state president of the Tamil Nadu BJP. Now there are talks that after his resignation he may start a major mass movement. But in the future, the movement will take the form of a new political party“It is not yet clear whether this will happen. Annamalai has indicated that he will make his political future and next strategy fully clear in the next two days.
