There are rumors that Karnataka politics may take a new turn after a crucial meeting between the Congress party at Indira Bhavan in New Delhi. According to sources, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah may be sent to the Rajya Sabha. This is likely to lead to a major change in leadership in the state. The top Congress leadership is currently holding important talks with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Sivakumar in Delhi.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, senior leader Rahul Gandhi, AICC general secretary CC Benugopal and Karnataka party in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala are present in the meeting. The party high command is expected to meet the two senior leaders separately and convey their views. The meeting may also take a final decision on the chief minister’s tenure and state cabinet reshuffle.
The Congress leadership is worried that the uncertainty within the party will not affect the running of the government. The meeting will also discuss preparations of the party strategy for the upcoming 2028 Assembly elections and Rajya Sabha elections. The meeting is expected to see major changes in the Karnataka government and the Congress organisation.
