Pulwama attack mastermind Hamza Burhan was killed in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir

Hamza Burhan, one of the main masterminds of the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, was killed by unknown gunmen in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Hamza Burhan was also known as Dr. He was shot several times in the body and died on the spot in an attack in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Burhan, a resident of Pulwama, was declared a terrorist by the Union Home Ministry

Born in Kharbatpora of Pulwama’s Ratnipura area, Burhan moved to Pakistan in 2017 for higher education. However, he went to Pakistan and joined the banned terrorist organization Al Badr, where he rose to the rank of commander within a short period of time. The Pulwama incident in Jammu and Kashmir was the largest terrorist attack on Indian security forces. The attack was carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammed militant group. On February 14, 2019, a suicide bomber blew himself up in an explosive-laden vehicle when he rammed a CRPF convoy, killing over 40 soldiers.

Just days after the deadly attack, the Indian Air Force carried out a surgical strike on a terrorist base in Balakot, Pakistan. India’s response led to widespread tension between the two countries. Killing such a terrorist on Pakistani soil is highly debated.
