Missing Youth Found at Homestay in Guwahati’s Sijubari Along with Three Women


 

GUWAHATI: A youth who had been reported missing for the past four days was traced and rescued by police during an operation at a homestay in Guwahati’s Sijubari area.

The missing individual, identified as Navnil Deka, had allegedly left his home following a dispute with his parents. His family subsequently lodged a missing person complaint on May 28, prompting an investigation by the police.

Acting on leads gathered during the course of the probe, Hatigaon Police conducted a raid at a homestay in Sijubari, where they located Deka along with three women.

The owner of the homestay was also detained during the operation. Police brought Deka, the three women, and the homestay owner to the police station for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.

Speaking to GPlus, the Officer-in-Charge of Hatigaon Police Station stated, "The youth had left home after an argument with his parents. The officer further said that the three women found at the homestay were reportedly friends of Deka."

Authorities stated that further legal action, if necessary, will be determined after the completion of questioning and the investigation process.
