Kevin Carter was a photojournalist who grew up in South Africa in the era of racism. After witnessing the 1983 bombings in Church Street, Carter decided to become a photographer and wrote a history of the horrors of racism, who joined another photojournalist to capture the violence of racial discrimination on camera. The group was called “Bang-Bang Club”. In 1993, Kevin Carter was given a special responsibility to take photographs of the famine in Sudan. During that visit, he captured his most famous photo. Freelch photographer Carter won the Pulitzer Prize for the film, which was released on the front page of The New York Times. A year after the publication of the famous photo, Kevin Carter received the Pulitzer Prize for feature photography in April On May 23, he accepted the award at the Lombia University Law Memorial Library Rotanda and wrote to his parents this is the most valuable thing and the highest recognition of my work which I got.
The film caused a strong reaction, attracted attention to Sudan and launched a global assistance.
However, it also raised the moral question whether it was right to take photos at such a moment. Why didn’t you help the child? Despite the widespread controversy , Kevin Carter was awarded the Pulitzer Prize on April 12. He was widely credited to express the plight of the people of Sudan to the world. But he realized why he didn’t try to save the child. He was completely broken by the strong criticism of the self-conflict and the society. Finally , in 1994, Kevin Carter committed suicide. Kevin Carter committed suicide on July 994 , 27 July.
He left thousands of photos that still expose reality. There is still controversy over the moral questions of his profession. But without Carter and others like him, the Earth would not have known many harsh truths. As a legend of Sudan, those who do not see badly cannot evaluate good.
