The district administration has immediately canceled the survey work of the proposed satellite township project in Sindhisar and Naladhara villages under Jagiroad in Morigaon district. In view of the strong objections and concerns of various parties and local people regarding the project, the district administration took this important decision to stop the survey process.
According to a public notice issued by Anamika TiwariSurveys were carried out in the area with a view to developing rehabilitation and resettlement proposals in conjunction with the proposed satellite city project. However, the district administration was forced to suspend the survey activities in the middle of the project based on the complaints of various quarters and organizations and the fear of the future. The administration has clarified that this decision has been taken in priority to public concern and consent.

A copy of the notice has already been sent to the Jagiroad Sub-Divisional MagistrateMorigaon Revenue Circle Circle Officer and District Information and Public Relations Officer to take necessary action. The Public Relations Department has also been specifically instructed to disseminate this matter widely among the public.
At present, all government survey activities in the area have been suspended on the orders of the administration. In the coming days, the party and organization including the district administration“The future of the project is expected to depend on further negotiations.
