The Tourism Park will promote silk-based tourism by showcasing Assam's unique Muga silk heritage, while the Spun Mill will convert silk waste into high-value spun Muga yarn, helping reduce wastage and improve resource utilisation.

The two projects are expected to generate employment, strengthen value addition in the Muga silk industry and support the state's vision of making Assam a global hub for authentic GI-tagged Golden Muga Silk.

The announcements form part of Mission Senehjori, a three-year initiative being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) to strengthen the entire Muga silk value chain, from production and processing to branding and market access.
