GUWAHATI: A 31-year-old man allegedly died by suicide in Guwahati’s Ambikagiri Nagar area, after suffering financial losses linked to IPL betting, police officials said on Saturday, May 30.

Speaking to GPlus, an official from Geeta Nagar Police Station informed that the deceased has been identified as Hirak Jyoti Deka, a resident of Bonda in Guwahati. A local said Deka had been staying in the Ambikagiri Nagar locality for work-related purposes.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, while further investigation into the incident is underway.
