A local television journalist jumped into the overflowing Budhidihing River from a newly constructed bridge in Margherita on Saturday afternoon. Missing journalist Ujjwal Chowdhury is a representative of an electronic media outlet called Margherita. The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Arun Kumar, a resident of the area. The deceased is Ujjal Chowdhury (28) of Lidu, who was going to Margherita on a scooter with his colleague Nitul Varali on Saturday afternoon. As soon as he reached the new bridge over the Budhdihing river, Chowdhury asked Bharali to stop his scooter. Before anyone knew anything, he jumped into the overflowing river. According to eyewitness and his colleague Nitul Bharali, Chowdhury rode with him on a scooter saying that he was going to meet someone at Margherita’s.
Varali said, when Chowdhury asked him to stop when he reached the bridge, he stopped the scooter and jumped into the Chowdhury river. He said he could not find any way to properly park the scooter or arrest Chowdhury.
