Assam Police Seize 2.97 Kg Heroin Worth ₹5.8 Crore in Kokrajhar, Two Held


 

GUWAHATI: Kokrajhar Police seized 2.97 kg of heroin worth approximately ₹5.8 crore during an anti-drug operation at Srirampur Naka, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in a post on X on Wednesday, July 29.

According to the Chief Minister's post, police intercepted a vehicle at the naka and recovered the suspected contraband.

Two accused persons were apprehended in connection with the seizure.

Police also found an “On Duty” sticker on the vehicle, which was allegedly being used to conceal the real intent behind its movement.

The seizure was part of the ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the state.

The Chief Minister commended Kokrajhar Police and Assam Police for the operation, stating that the state's “war on drugs” continues.
