GUWAHATI: India enjoyed a strong outing at the Commonwealth Games 2026 on Wednesday, July 29, adding three medals to its tally and strengthening its position in the overall standings.

Dilip Gavit Wins Gold With Games Record
Para athlete Dilip Mahadu Gavit delivered a sensational performance in the men's 100m T47 final, winning the gold medal with a Games Record time of 10.71 seconds.
India also secured the silver medal in the event, with Mohammed Basil Morssinganakath clocking a season's best 10.83 seconds to complete an Indian 1-2 finish.
England's Kevin Santos took bronze with a time of 10.85 seconds.
The gold-silver finish marked a memorable outing for India's para athletics contingent at the Commonwealth Games.
Sreeshankar Secures Second Consecutive Silver
India's Murali Sreeshankar won silver in the men's long jump with a best effort of 8.09 metres.
Sreeshankar produced his best jump in the second round and could not improve on it in his final attempt, recording 7.97 metres.
Jamaica's Tajay Gayle claimed the gold medal with a jump of 8.15 metres, while Sreeshankar's 8.09m secured him silver.
The medal marked Sreeshankar's second consecutive Commonwealth Games silver medal in the event.
With the day's results, India continued to sit eighth in the standings with 15 medals — three gold, nine silver and three bronze.
