GUWAHATI: A young man’s body was recovered near Lok Bhawan in Guwahati’s Uzan Bazar area on Thursday, May 28, triggering concern among locals. According to preliminary reports, the body was found inside a water tank linked to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC).
The deceased has been identified as Kamesh Jinmi, a resident of the Morakhali area in Paltan Bazar.
Speaking to GPlus, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Latasil Police Station stated that Jinmi was employed at the Satpukhuri Water Treatment Plant. He added that the deceased was around 30 years old and that police received information about the incident at approximately 7:45 pm.
When asked about the cause of death, the OC said that the investigation is currently underway and the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be determined.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination for further investigation.
