GUWAHATI: A woman in Guwahati's Boragaon area allegedly fell victim to a theft after two unidentified men posing as finance company agents entered her residence and stole her gold chain on June 5, 2026.

According to police, the incident occurred when the accused approached the woman claiming to be finance agents. They allegedly sprayed an unidentified intoxicating substance on her before stealing her gold chain, valued at approximately 70,000 to 80,000, and fleeing the scene.
Speaking to GPlus, an official from Garchuk Police Station said, “It is a case of theft where two individuals entered the victim's house disguised as finance agents. They sprayed an unidentified intoxicating substance and took her gold chain worth around ₹70,000 to ₹80,000 before fleeing the scene.”
The victim later informed her family members, following which a complaint was lodged with the Garchuk Police Station.
Further investigation is underway.
