A screenshot of the popular social media platform Telegram has created a stir across the country. This was the biggest evidence of this year’s NEET question paper leak scam. So students have to sit for NEET exam again. Just before the exam will be held again in June, the central government has taken a major step to prevent question paper leaks and for security reasons. Telegram is now temporarily banned across the country. Narendra Modi government announced this decision on Tuesday.
Telegram’s name came to light in an investigation that began after the NEET question papers were leaked in May through which the question papers were sent through the app. Question papers are sold through various groups and channels. The country is familiar with such heinous acts against the future of meritorious students. Such incidents have happened many times before.
According to sources, after the question paper was leaked through Telegram, some Telegram groups claimed that the rescheduled NEET exam question paper was also leaked. They also demanded money from some candidates in the name of sending question papers. They were promised to give the question papers of the June 21 exam and demanded money from the students’ families. The Narendra Modi government took strict action as soon as this news came to light.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) said in a statement that several Telegram channels have announced the sale of question papers. They claim that the question papers of the June 21 exam have already been leaked. It is an attempt to mislead the candidates. The central government has taken this step. Telegram has been banned across the country till June 22, the day after the exam, to prevent question paper leaks and spread confusion among students. Not only is the app blocked, the ability to edit messages in Telegram is also completely blocked.
