GUWAHATI: Eight people, including two Boeing employees, were killed after a US Air Force B-52 Stratofortress bomber crashed moments after take-off from Edwards Air Force Base in southern California on Monday, June 15.

According to initial reports, the aircraft was carrying out a routine test mission when it departed from the base at approximately 11:20 am local time. Seconds after becoming airborne, the bomber went down near the airfield.
The crash produced a large plume of black smoke that was visible from miles away and prompted an immediate emergency response at the scene.
The cause of the crash is yet to be determined, and an investigation is underway.
