A collision between a taxi and a toy train in Darjeeling has recently generated much attention. Darjeeling Himalayan Railway’s toy train rammed into a Mahindra Sumo car parked dangerously near the track. After the incident, the taxi driver argued with the train’s lock pilot and claimed that the train was coming in the wrong direction. The video of the incident caught attention on social media.
Unlike vehicles on normal roads, a train cannot change its course or sideswipe other vehicles. The toy train has been running along a permanent railway line for over a hundred years. The taxi driver claimed that the train was coming in the wrong direction.
Authorities later investigated the incident and confirmed that the taxi was parked illegally and recklessly near the railway line. The train hits the car as it passes by.
The authorities have taken legal action after the incident. Authorities have already impounded the Mahindra Sumo and registered a case against the driver for negligence and illegal parking.
