The day started normally. It was the month of Ramadan. All students lined up for prayers. Suddenly the news came that the first US attack on Iran. The principal then declared an immediate school holiday. Parents have been informed to come and pick up the students. Leave of absence starts accordingly. But suddenly the school collapsed. A total of 156 people died, including 120 infant girls. Today after so long school teacher Amin Nademi spoke to BBC about the horror of that tragic death. He asks, what was their fault?
“It’s not a school anymore, just death, grief and blood on the walls,” Nademi said, remembering the five other students in the class she was in. Suddenly an explosion is heard. As they were leaving, another explosion occurred. A missile hit the school. “I couldn’t even find the baby I was holding,” Nademi said. I was having trouble breathing. He said that the whole body is bleeding.
On February 28, the school was attacked in the small southern Iranian city of Minab, the first day of the war. Initially the US did not admit responsibility. Instead, Trump blamed Iran. “Our assumption is that it was Iran’s fault that they mistakenly attacked a school in their own country while trying to target somewhere else,” he said. However, within a few days, the report of the internal investigation of the US intelligence was published. It is said that the US military is probably responsible for the terrible attack in southern Iran’s Minab.
The whole incident is still controversial. But Nademi doesn’t care about them. Instead, he still remembers his blood-soaked body. I remember the bloody children trapped in the rubble all around. No one knows when the Iran war will end. But even when the war is over, the question will always remain, what was wrong with those little children? Why so many innocent lives burned to ashes in the fire of greed and aggression? However, Nademi is well aware that she will never have an answer.
