GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police seized around 37 kilograms of gold worth an estimated ₹54 crore from Kharghuli area on Monday night, Juune 29, and arrested one person in connection with the case.

The seizure was made during an operation conducted by a team from Latasil Police Station based on specific intelligence inputs. The consignment was intercepted while it was being transported, police officials told GPlus.
The accused has been identified as Akshay Bansure and was taken into custody after the operation.
The seizure is among the biggest reported in the city in recent times.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
