Afghanistan lost to India due to Yashwir’s century and Rohit’s outstanding batting


India beat Afghanistan by nine wickets in Chennai on Saturday. With this victory, the home team went three-nil in the three-match series. India won easily following the easy target given by Afghanistan. Young player Yasaswi Jaiswal scored a beautiful century for India. Indians also performed well in the bowling department and defeated the visitors early on.

With a target of 219 runs, the Indians played aggressively from the start. Yasswi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma gave the team a good start. The two players put on a huge partnership of 170 runs for the first wicket. Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 89 off 79 balls with nine fours and three sixes.

Despite Rohit Sharma’s dismissal, Yasshwi Jaiswal continued his attacking play and led the team to victory along with Shreyas Iyer. Yasaswi completed his century in just eighty balls. Unbeaten till the end of the match, the youngster scored 110 runs off 86 balls with 14 fours and three sixes. Shreyas Iyer scored 40 runs off 19 balls. India won the match by 224 runs losing only one wicket.

Earlier, Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and decided to bat first. But famous Indian fast bowler Krishna Sundar put the Afghanistan openers in danger with his bowling. Prasidh Krishna took five important wickets for just 23 runs. At one point, Afghanistan lost four wickets for just thirty-six runs. Then captain Shahidi scored a 131-ball century to give some relief to the team. He was accompanied by Azmatullah Omarzai who scored a half-century but the entire team lost all their wickets for 280 runs.
