Imphal: protest against the killing of Leylon wife! Demand for suspension of operation contract


Sadao Naga Chhatra Sangh of Imphal, Manipur on Saturday, A massive peaceful protest march was organized by Manipur (ANSAM). The rally was held to demand justice for the six Naga nationals who were abducted and later brutally killed in Leylon Waifei village of Kangpokpi district. The protesters carried banners and placards and called for the restoration of peace through government intervention and due punishment of the perpetrators.

Organized by KNF-P under the theme “Demand Justice for the Infamous Lilon Vaifei Massacre”, the rally started from Imphal’s Tangkhul Baptist Church, proceeded towards Khuathong and ended at Mao Market. A large number of people participating in the rally raised slogans for justice for the slain citizens and strongly criticized the government’s current security measures and political response. The protesters demanded suspension of operations (SO) with the Kuki militant groupnon‘) They also demanded cancellation of the contract. at the same time, Deputy Prime Minister Nemcha Kipgen was also demanded to be removed from office due to his alleged family ties to the KNF-P, but these allegations have so far received no official evidence.

Speaking to the media from the protest site, ANSAM president Antesang Maring said the six innocent civilians abducted from Lelon Waifei were held hostage for more than 20 days before being killed. He lamented that more than a month had passed since the abduction, but the police could not arrest a single accused involved in this heinous act. He questioned the slow pace of investigation and demanded swift legal action against the culprits.

Alleging that the KNF-P was directly involved in the abductions and killings, the President said that in line with the position of the United Naga Council, ANSA demanded a formal investigation against the group. If evidence is found, the group’s involvement in the incident, He also demanded to declare them a terrorist organization. Also, They accused the suspension of operations of abuse and called on the government to review and cancel the agreement if necessary to prevent such violence in the future.

So far, there has been no immediate response or statement from the administration or the government regarding the demands of the agitators.
