After the unexpected controversies and legal troubles of the first season, popular comedian Sama Raina has officially announced the second season of his much-talked-about digital show ‘India’s Got Latent’.
Originally released on YouTube, the first season of the show quickly became one of the most talked about digital shows in India due to its unexpected performances and natural dialogues. The comedian recently revealed the second season in a video message with his friend Balraj Singh and clarified that the episode duration and release schedule will be exactly the same on both the platforms. Netflix India made the announcement more interesting with a promotional post on Instagram, with popular content creator Ashish Chanchalani jokingly referring to the previous season’s legal troubles and commenting that this time the show should have a warning or disclaimer, to make it easier to fight the case.
In February 2025, the show faced severe backlash for some comments made in an episode featuring Ranveer Allahabadia, Ashish Chanchalani and Apoorva Mukhija. This led to an FIR being lodged against Raina and the show was removed from YouTube, forcing the comedian to take a long hiatus. Raina later made a comeback with a stand-up special titled ‘Still Alive’, which covered her personal struggles and controversies and garnered millions of viewers.
The announcement of the second season of ‘India’s Got Latent’ signals the comedian’s full comeback. Of course, the air date and guest list for the new season have yet to be revealed, but adding a major broadcast partner like Netflix is likely to bring the show to more viewers.
