An elderly Sikh couple has been shot dead inside a gurdwara in Pakistan


A terrible incident took place in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. An elderly Sikh couple was shot dead inside a gurdwara in Babu Mohalla Khaja Ganj Bazar under Hoti police station on Wednesday. The deceased are Jagannath (70) and his wife Asma Wanti. They were the caretakers of the Gurdwara. The attackers are absconding since the incident.

That is knownThe elderly couple went to the Gurdwara on Wednesday morning. According to the complaint, a group of unidentified youth entered the Gurdwara and started firing indiscriminately at the elderly couple. This incident spread panic inside the Gurudwara. The two men fell down on the spot covered in blood after being shot and the assailants fled the spot immediately.

But why was the old couple killed?“It is not yet clear and the police have already started investigating the incident. The BJP strongly condemned the attack. They said the killing has raised concerns about the safety of religious minorities in Pakistan. Akal Takht chief priest Gnani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj also condemned the incident. He urged Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Khyber Khan Chief Minister Mohammad Khan to take the matter seriously. He demanded the arrest of the culprits as soon as possible and strict punishment.
