GUWAHATI: Assam swimmer Kasturi Gogoi won her third gold medal at the 42nd Sub Junior National Aquatic Championships 2026, strengthening the state’s performance at the national-level competition.

Gogoi clocked 2:47.32 in the 200-metre breaststroke event to claim her third gold medal at the championships, which concluded at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium Swimming Pool in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on August 9.
She had earlier secured gold in the girls’ 100-metre breaststroke event, clocking 1:16.82, and added another gold medal to her tally during the championships.
The four-day championships were held from August 6 to 9, with Assam putting up a strong performance at the event.
Assam Swimming Association General Secretary Bhaskar Ranjan Das congratulated Gogoi on her achievement and expressed satisfaction with her performance.
Gogoi is currently undergoing training under coach Babul Gurung at the Sarusajai Swimming Pool in Guwahati.
