Four Drug Peddlers Arrested in Separate Operations Across Guwahati


 

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police arrested four alleged drug peddlers in separate anti-narcotics operations across the city and seized heroin from multiple localities as part of the ongoing Assam Against Drugs campaign.

An EGPD team from Dispur Police Station arrested Rajah Singh (27), of 9 Mile, after he was caught with six vials of heroin at Khanapara.

In another operation, a CGPD team from Paltan Bazar Police Station arrested Pankaj Ray (21), of Kachari Basti, during a raid at Apsara Cinema Hall. Police recovered 11 vials of heroin weighing approximately 13 grams, along with a syringe.

Separately, an EGPD team from Basistha Police Station raided a suspected hideout at Khanapara and arrested Amar Pradhan alias Bhate (20). Police seized 39 grams of heroin packed in five tobacco boxes, along with 41 empty vials.

In a fourth operation, an EGPD team from Dispur Police Station, acting on intelligence inputs, arrested Balen Rajbongshi (30), of Baksa. He was allegedly caught carrying 3.25 grams of heroin packed in two boxes and 16 vials in his e-rickshaw near Rajdhani Mosque.

Legal action has been initiated in all four cases.
