Four miscreants were killed in an encounter in Gurugram. All the dead are members of gangster groups. Three policemen of crime branch were also injured in the encounter in Sushant Lok Phase-II area of Gurugram. Police said one member of the gangster group was shot dead.
The Gurugram Police Commissioner said that all the miscreants are the associate shooters of gangster Deepak Nandal. Deepak is currently operating his criminal activities from abroad. Apart from four bodies, five automatic firearms have also been recovered, he said.
Gurugram Assistant Commissioner of Police Dharambir Singh said the crime branch received a tip-off from the police control room about the suspicious movement of armed men in a vehicle.
Just before the crime branch team reached Sushant Lok area, miscreants opened fire at a businessman’s house using sophisticated firearms. They then opened fire at the police. Four miscreants were killed in the clash.
After going there, crime branch officials alerted the miscreants, police said. They have also been asked to surrender. But they shot at the police and tried to escape.
Crime Branch officers then fired in self-defence and arrested them. Five members of this gang were shot dead. Four people were declared dead after being brought to the hospital. Another member of the group is still undergoing treatment.
Three policemen were also shot in this incident. They are also currently undergoing treatment, officials said.
The businessman, a resident of Sushant Lok area, had repeatedly received threatening calls from gangsters abroad. He was called and demanded a large sum of money. According to sources, the businessman was also threatened with serious consequences if he did not pay the demanded amount.
