The Automation and Robotics Association (AURA) of Gauhati University has earned recognition from the Book of World Records for organising the “Largest University Student-Led Robotics Summer Camp in North-East India in a Single Venue for Four Consecutive Days.”
The record was achieved through the AURA Robotics Summer Camp 2026, a four-day programme aimed at introducing school students to practical robotics, STEM education and emerging technologies.
Organised under the leadership of Pritam Das and Harish Dutta, the camp provided students with hands-on learning opportunities through robotics activities and practical projects. The programme focused on encouraging participants to explore technology beyond conventional classroom learning by building and experimenting with different concepts.
According to the certificate issued by the Book of World Records, AURA was recognised for promoting robotics, STEM education and technological learning through the four-day student-led initiative.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for AURA, which aims to expand access to practical education and encourage young students to explore technology and innovation.
AURA Board members presented the World Record certificate to Gauhati University Vice Chancellor Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta and Registrar Prof. Utpal Sarma, marking the achievement as a significant moment for the university community.
The AURA Board members said the recognition represents more than a record and reflects the ability of students to take the lead in creating educational platforms and opportunities for others.
Following the recognition, AURA plans to expand its activities in STEM education, innovation and student-led initiatives, with a focus on connecting practical learning opportunities with students at the grassroots level.
The achievement adds another milestone to AURA’s efforts to promote student-driven innovation and robotics education in Assam and the wider North-East.
