An unprecedented incident of climbing over a mobile tower in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh has created panic and tension in the area. The man, identified as Hanumanthu, risked his life to stay in the tower for a long time, creating panic among the local and police administration. The authorities initially believe that the young man took this extreme step due to heavy drug addiction or deep mental stress.

According to eyewitnesses, the youth named Hanumanthu suddenly climbed atop a local mobile tower and started shouting. The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Arun Kumar, a resident of the area. Sitting at the perilous height of the tower, the youth repeatedly shouted in Telugu to the police and locals: “I will hold your legs sir, please bring me a packet of ganja.” The youth’s unusual behavior and risk of jumping from the tower alarmed the crowd. The scene went viral on social media, where the youth was seen sitting in a dangerous position.

Local police and emergency department personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident. Senior police officers launched an elaborate rescue operation to bring down the youth safely. After a long conversation and psychological counseling by the government, the police managed to convince the youth and brought him down from the tower safely.

After being safely rescued, the police sent the youth to the nearest government hospital for immediate medical examination and necessary psychiatric treatment. Doctors and local authorities said the young man is currently doing well and undergoing treatment. The administration is taking the entire incident seriously and continuing departmental investigation into the real cause of the incident and drug trafficking.
