GUWAHATI: The All Women Police Station in Guwahati has registered a case against Lihaj Azim Bora, a resident of Charaideo district, following allegations of financial exploitation, physical assault and criminal intimidation made by a woman from Guwahati's Ulubari.

According to the FIR registered on June 9, the complainant alleged that Bora entered into a relationship with her after repeatedly assuring her that he would marry her. The woman claimed that she trusted Bora and his family based on these assurances.
The complaint further states that Bora allegedly took money from her on several occasions during the course of their relationship. She also alleged that he later refused to fulfil his promise of marriage, physically assaulted her and threatened to disclose private details of their relationship if she did not comply with his demands.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under Sections 115(2), 308(2), 318(2) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. As per the FIR, the alleged incidents occurred between March 2023 and October 2025.
Speaking to GPlus, an official from the All Women Police Station said, “Upon receiving the complaint, a case was registered and an investigation was initiated. Relevant evidence has been collected during the course of the inquiry, and further investigation is underway. After completion of the investigation, a charge sheet will be submitted before the court in due course.”
Police officials stated that the matter remains under investigation and further proceedings will be carried out in accordance with legal procedures.
