GUWAHATI: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda will undertake a three-day visit to the Northeast from August 4 to 6 to assess the impact of recent floods, flash floods and cloudbursts in Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.

The visit comes in the wake of widespread flooding and landslides that have disrupted health services, damaged infrastructure and heightened concerns over disease outbreaks across several parts of the region.
According to the official itinerary, Nadda will arrive in Dibrugarh from New Delhi on Tuesday, August 4, and stay there overnight.
On August 5, the Union Minister will visit Charaideo district in Assam, one of the worst-affected areas during the recent floods, to assess the relief and rehabilitation efforts and review the healthcare response. He is also expected to chair a review meeting with state government officials and participate in local engagements.
Later in the day, he will travel to Mon district in Nagaland for official meetings and programmes before returning to Dibrugarh for the night.
On August 6, Nadda will leave for Yazali in Arunachal Pradesh's Keyi Panyor district for official engagements before concluding his Northeast visit.
Meanwhile, Assam continues to grapple with the aftermath of the floods. According to the latest official figures, the flood death toll in the state has risen to 87, while four people remain missing- three from Sivasagar district and one from Charaideo.
Since the onset of the floods this year, 11,45,109 people have been affected across Assam, underscoring the scale of the disaster and the ongoing need for relief, rehabilitation and restoration efforts.
