GUWAHATI: A 35-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run incident near Basistha Chariali in Guwahati on Sunday night, July 5, after an unidentified vehicle struck him on the service lane of NH27 and fled the scene.

The deceased was identified as Jadumoni Nath, a resident of Sipajhar in Darrang district.
The accident occurred at around 10.40 pm near Basistha Chariali. The vehicle fled immediately after hitting Nath.
Speaking to GPlus, a traffic official from the Basistha Traffic Branch said, "The vehicle and the driver are yet to be identified and apprehended. We are going through the CCTV footage."
Further investigation is underway.
