GUWAHATI: A massive fire broke out at a restaurant in Guwahati’s Six Mile area during the early hours of Friday, June 5, completely destroying the establishment and causing significant property damage.
The incident occurred at Cafe7, a popular eatery located in the busy Six Mile locality. According to reports, the blaze erupted at around 3:30 AM and spread rapidly through the premises, engulfing the restaurant within minutes.
Fire and emergency services were immediately alerted, and several fire tenders were dispatched to the spot. Firefighters launched an intensive operation and managed to bring the flames under control by approximately 4 AM, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby structures.
By the time the blaze was extinguished, the restaurant had been reduced to ashes. While no injuries or casualties were reported, the incident resulted in substantial financial losses, with property damage estimated to exceed ₹50 lakh.
Preliminary findings indicate that a suspected electrical short circuit may have triggered the fire. However, authorities have initiated a detailed investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the incident.
