Not only toffee, but from velvet shawls to marbles, Modi gave gifts! What’s on the list?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently returned to India after visiting five countries. His visit to Italy is a matter of discussion. His meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Maloney and his gift of ‘Melody’ toffees to Maloney attracted much attention. But PM Modi didn’t just take toffees, he also brought several other special gifts for the Italian Prime Minister symbolizing India’s rich culture that will further strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

PM Modi presents a velvet shawl to Georgia Maloney, the pride of Assam. Apart from the velvet shawl, the Prime Minister presented Meloni with a special silk stole made in Manipur tradition. This stall uses the pattern of ‘Shirui Lily’, a rare flower from Manipur. The Shirui lily is found only in the hills of Manipur and is considered a symbol of honor and purity. Most interestingly, in Italy, the lily is considered a symbol of purity and beauty, which makes this gift even more important to Maloney.

Apart from the Prime Minister of Italy, Prime Minister Modi also gave a beautiful gift to the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella. He presented the President with a marble box carved from the famous stone of Agra. This box was decorated with precious stones and beautiful art. Inside this box are renowned Indian musicians Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and M.S. Subbalakshmi’s classical music recordings were full. With all these gifts, the Prime Minister has set a beautiful example of India’s rich art, culture and music to the world, say experts.
