According to reports, local residents had gathered to protest against the alleged drug sale in the locality. However, the demonstration took a different turn when discussions shifted from the alleged illegal activities to the identity of the suspected peddlers, leading to a heated confrontation between two groups.
As tensions mounted, members of both sides engaged in a physical altercation, resulting in injuries to several individuals. Media personnel present at the scene were also reportedly caught in the violence and sustained injuries.
Police teams rushed to the area to bring the situation under control and disperse the crowd. Reports indicate that at least one police officer was injured while attempting to manage the escalating conflict.
Eyewitness accounts and videos circulating from the scene suggested that provocative slogans were raised during the confrontation, further intensifying the situation and sparking outrage among those gathered.
Amid the unrest, some members of the Bihari community asserted that they supported action against illegal activities but opposed attempts to link the issue to any particular community. They appealed for the matter to be addressed as a law-and-order situation rather than being viewed through a communal lens.
