GUWAHATI: Three people have been arrested by Dispur PS in connection to a theft case, and stolen articles – metal scrap and some hand-held machines — were recovered from their possession

The police initially arrested one accused namely Biswajit Basfor of Bhabanipur.
A police official told GPLus that based on his confession, a raid and search operation was conducted at a dump in Basistha, during which two more accused persons — Jahidul Islam and Dhanjit Nath — both residents of Mukalmua, were apprehended.
“The stolen articles were recovered from their possession. Necessary legal action has been initiated,” the police official said.
In a separate news, the Dispur PS has recovered a stolen bike and subsequently handed it over to the lawful owner.
Paul Rajkumar, a resident of Survey, after returning home from his friend’s birthday party, had parked his bike bearing registration no. AS-01DH-8548 at the gate of his residence.
The bike was stolen from the gate, Paul Rajkumar told police.
“Within 2 hours (of the complaint been filed), the stolen bike was recovered by the Dispur P.S. team near the Sixmile Bridge in an abandoned condition, and the recovered bike was handed over to the lawful owner,” a police official said.
