Water Supply Disrupted in Guwahati’s Chandmari Colony and Ambari Due to Leakage in Pipeline


 

GUWAHATI: A leak in a drinking water pipeline in Ambari and Chandmari Colony area of Guwahati has disrupted water supply in these localities, causing inconvenience to residents and business establishments.

The pipeline in Chandmari was damaged on Wednesday, May 13. Local residents alleged that the supply of running water has not yet been fully restored, leading to a shortage of water in the area.

The leakage in Chandmari is believed to have occurred during drain restoration work carried out on Tuesday, May 12. According to local residents, JCB machines engaged in the work allegedly damaged the underground water pipeline, resulting in the disruption of supply.

The water pipeline in Ambari was damaged during ongoing footpath construction work in the area.

Residents of these areas expressed concern over the delay in restoration, stating that households and commercial establishments have been facing difficulties due to the shortage of water. Many locals have urged the authorities to repair the damaged pipeline at the earliest and ensure normal water supply resumes soon.
