Will ex-IPS announce a new party in Tamil Nadu in two days?

Former Tamil Nadu BJP president and ex-IPS officer K.S. Allegations have been raised that Annamalai left the party and formed a new political party. The controversy intensified after he left Chennai for New Delhi on Monday to meet the party’s top leadership. He is expected to formally announce a new political platform soon amid widespread discussion on the internet and social media about his future political future.

Before leaving for Delhi, reporters questioned the media about rumors about his political future. Annamalai, without giving a direct answer about leaving the BJP and forming a new party, only said that everyone please wait for two days and they will sit together and talk about it in two days. While his speech became the focus of discussion, another incident caught special attention. Annamalai’s car at the Chennai airport did not carry the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party flag, which political analysts took as a significant gesture.

Meanwhile, ahead of Annamalai’s birthday on June 4, his supporters are putting up posters on main roads and other places in Chennai. The posters used the slogan ‘Our leader, come and lead us’, reflecting the activism and interest of his supporters in a new political journey. The 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, where TVK won 108 seats in its first election, changed the course of politics in the state. At such a crucial time, all eyes are now on Annamalai’s next move.

In 2020, a former IPS officer, K.S. Annamalai joined the BJP and successfully served as the party’s Tamil Nadu state president from 2021, becoming the most popular and influential face of the BJP in the state and garnering massive support among the youth and social media users. The decision taken during Annamalai’s visit to Delhi and meeting with the party leadership is expected to be clear in the next two days.
