The 2026 IPL title battle ended in a thrilling finale. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) to win their second consecutive IPL trophy. After the win, celebrations started in Bangalore.
The win made them the third team in IPL history to win two consecutive championships after Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). RCB got Rs 20 crore as champions and runners-up Gujarat Titans also got a huge prize.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a total prize money of Rs 46.5 crore for the 2026 IPL. The money is divided among the top four teams according to position. Separate awards are also given for individual performances.
Champion RCB received Rs. 20 crores. Runners-up Gujarat Titans lost in the final. They received 13 crore rupees. Third placed Rajasthan Royals (RR) got Rs 7 crore and fourth placed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) got Rs 6.5 crore.
The most talked about player this season was Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He scored 776 runs and won the Orange Cap. His average was 48.50. Vaibhav also won the best six-hitter award with 72 sixes. He also won the Best Emerging Player and Player of the Year awards.
Kagiso Rabada won the Purple Cap with 29 wickets. Virat Kohli’s unbeaten innings of 75 runs was adjudged Man of the Match in the final.
Virat Kohli won the award for most fours and best sixes in the final. Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the best dot ball award. Venkatesh Iyer was awarded the best strike rate in the final. His strike rate was 200.00 in the final against Gujarat.
Vaibhav won the award for the best strike rate in the entire season. His strike rate was 237.30. Punjab Kings (PBKS) won the Fair Play Award. Manish Pandey won the best catch award.
