The action took place at Jagun Ghat in Tinsukia district, where security forces closed in on the insurgent based on prior intelligence inputs. During the operation, personnel also recovered a weapon and a magazine from the apprehended cadre, effectively neutralizing what officials described as a potential threat to the region.

The successful operation underscores the continued vigilance and close coordination between the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and state police in maintaining security across Assam and the wider Northeast.

Officials noted that such joint efforts remain central to counter-insurgency operations in the region, aimed at preventing violence and ensuring long-term peace and stability for local communities.
