GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the Science City in Guwahati at Sonapur, where he reviewed ongoing Phase-II works alongside senior officials. During the visit, the Chief Minister announced that the state government will provide an additional ₹100 crore for Phase-IV development works at the facility.

The Phase-IV works will include a digital panorama, a convention centre, a musical fountain, and expanded parking facilities, further enhancing the infrastructure and visitor experience at the Science City. Officials said the project is expected to be completed in an enhanced and engaging form by March 2027.
The Chief Minister said that once completed, the Science City could emerge as one of the best in the country, offering visitors an immersive and world-class scientific experience. He also urged school and college students across the state to visit the facility and make the most of its educational offerings.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Cabinet Minister of Science and Technology Keshav Mahanta, local MLA Dr Tapan Das and senior officials during the site review, which forms part of the state government's continued push to develop the Science City as a key scientific and educational attraction in the region.
