GUWAHATI: Devojyoti Mukherjee, Inspector General of Assam, has been awarded the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) for his special distinguished record in service.

Other recipients from the Northeast include Lokhendro Singh Arambam, Armed Police Sub Inspector from Manipur, Meenu Choudhary, Additional Director General from Mizoram, and Videlalie Zashumo, Inspector General fromNagaland.
The President’s Medal for Distinguished Service is awarded to personnel for a special and distinguished record in service.
A total of 92 President’s Medals for Distinguished Service have been awarded this year. Of these, 83 have been conferred on personnel from the Police Service, four from the Fire Service, three from the Civil Defence and Home Guard Service, and two from the Correctional Service.
The awards recognise personnel for their distinguished contribution and dedicated service, acknowledging their role in maintaining public safety and carrying out their responsibilities with commitment.
