Announcing the decision, ASTC Vice President stated that improving the comfort, safety, and environmental sustainability of urban transportation remains one of the corporation's top priorities. The AC Green Buses, introduced to provide a modern and convenient travel experience for commuters, are an important part of the state's efforts to strengthen public transport infrastructure.

Under the new directive, every driver operating an ASTC Green Bus must display their valid driving licence in a visible location at the front of the bus while on duty. The measure is expected to increase accountability among drivers and boost passenger confidence in the public transport system.

ASTC has also warned that strict action will be taken against those who fail to comply with the order. Any violation of the directive will invite immediate departmental action by the District Road Safety Committee in coordination with the Traffic Police and ASTC authorities.
