GUWAHATI: A helmet theft was reported from outside the main gate of the Old High Court building in Guwahati on Monday, June 15, at around 11:45 AM, following which an FIR was registered at Latasil Police Station.

According to the complainant, the stolen helmet had been purchased just five days earlier. He submitted CCTV footage obtained from the High Court control room to police as evidence.
The complainant further claimed that this was the fourth helmet theft he had experienced in the past eight months and alleged that a group could be involved in carrying out similar thefts in the area.
Speaking to GPlus, officials at Latasil Police Station said, "Cases of helmet theft and other similar petty thefts are frequently reported across the city. Many such complaints are lodged at police stations, and appropriate action is taken in each case." Police added that they are examining the CCTV footage submitted by the complainant as part of the investigation.
Further investigation is ongoing.
