GUWAHATI: A man was found dead under unknown circumstances in Guwahati’s Geetanagar area on Monday morning, June 1, police confirmed.

The deceased has been identified as Shailen Deka. His body was found in a drain located near a residential property at Anupam Path in Geetanagar.
Local residents spotted the body early in the morning, following which the police were immediately alerted.
Soon after receiving the information, a team from Geetanagar Police Station arrived at the scene and initiated a probe.
Speaking to GPlus, a police official said, "the deceased individual has a history of alcohol consumption." However, the exact cause of death is yet to be determined, and no possibility has been ruled out at this stage.
