India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).The Indian Air Force has successfully test-fired an advanced air-to-surface missile named Rudram-II. The missile was test-fired from an Air Force Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet off the Odisha coast. According to Defense Ministry sources, the missile was launched from the air under very difficult conditions and was able to hit the target precisely by selecting its intended path. This success further strengthened India’s defense system and led the country towards self-reliance in military technology.
Data obtained through various monitoring instruments employed by the Integrated Testing Center at Chandipur confirmed that the test was a complete success. The Rudram-II missile belongs to DRDO in HyderabadIts main laboratory, the research center building, is a joint effort of several other defense research institutes in the country. In addition, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the regional center has provided significant support to military aircraft qualification and several Indian defense industry missile projects.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO for the promising success of the missile‘, congratulates the Indian Air Force and all concerned stakeholders. He said the successful test demonstrated the growing improvement in India’s indigenous defense technology and was a major step towards self-sufficiency of the country’s military. The DRDO Chairman described the achievement as a significant achievement for India’s missile development program and praised all the scientists and personnel involved.
