The Chief Minister gave the green light to win; However, the morning show of Trisha Krishnan’s film has been cancelled

The release of the much-anticipated Tamil film ‘Karuppu’ has taken a dramatic turn in the South Indian film industry. The film was supposed to hit the theaters on Thursday but its producer SR Prabhu canceled the 9 am show at the last minute due to unavoidable reasons.

The decision to cancel the show despite newly elected Chief Minister Vijay’s special permission has created anger and frustration among fans.

In a message on social media X hours before the release, the producer said that the 9 am show had to be canceled due to some unforeseen circumstances.

Earlier, last Tuesday, Chief Minister Vijay allowed a special screening of the film, an exceptional decision by the Tamil Nadu government in recent times. Due to the law and order situation, big budget films are usually not allowed to be shown in the morning or early morning. However, the film was allowed to play five shows in the first two days.

On Wednesday night, the film’s director RJ Balaji asked fans to be patient after seeing the online booking issues. He mentioned that the film has gone through various ups and downs in the last 32 months and the production house is trying its best to overcome the current crisis.

However, there is no clear explanation from the makers whether this complication applies only to theaters in Tamil Nadu or other states as well.

Written and directed by RJ Balaji, Karuppu stars popular stars Suriya and Trisha Krishnan. Indran, Nati and Swasik also play important roles.

The film, written by Sai Abhayankar, is in a frenzy among fans, but has drawn flak on social media for such a setback early in its release. Many have even demanded that the release of the film be postponed due to the cancellation of the show. After the cancellation of the 9pm show, the audience is worried about the next performance.
